All purpose flour : 250g
Active dry yeast : 1 and 1/4 teaspoons
Sugar : 3 tablespoons
Warm water : 170-180 mL
Salt : 3/4 teaspoons
Shortening : 20g
Sesame seed : 35g
1. In a mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add the sugar, salt, shortening, sesame seeds and flour. Beat on low speed for 3 minutes. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough. Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes.
2. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 30 minutes.
3. Punch dough down. Reshaped and put into mold or on the cooking sheet. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 20 minutes.
4. Bake at 390 degrees F for 28-30 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from pan to a wire rack to cool. Serve warm or at room temperature.
